Scribes of Lǝggāt, East Tigray

In the course of the cataloguing work of the project Ethio-SPaRe, the locality Ləg(g)āt has been noticed as a site potentially important for the study of the local manuscript culture because the place name appeared in the colophons of some recent manuscripts.

In 2022, within the framework of the Bm project, field missions to explore scribal activity were organized in the area.
