The workshop is open to students of all traditions; knowledge of oriental languages is not necessary.
It is meant for participants who may need to understand and actively use XML encoding in their research.
Prerequisites
1. Please make sure that you have studied the following materials in advance:

2. Please make sure that you have an XML editor (preferably Oxygen) installed on your laptop. NB Oxygen offers a free trial period of 30 days, after that one would need a paid licence.

9-11 : TEI for basic markup of texts for editing and commenting: theory and examples
11-11:15 : Break
11:15-13:00 : Exercise in text mark up. Transcription and collation (testing colLatex)
13:00-14:00 : Lunch
14:00-16:00 : Individual exercise time
27 November
9-10 : Review of exercises, questions and answers
10-11 : TEI for manuscript description. Basic concepts. Transformation and visualization
11-11:15 : Break
11:15-13:00 : Exercise in some elements of manuscript description with XML.
13:00-14:00 : Lunch
14:00-15:00 : Individual exercise time and/or some deeper insights into the Bm platform (depending on the needs)
