The Study of the Ethiopic Manuscripts of Dayr al-Suryān

Dr Denis Nosnitsin and Dorothea Reule, MA, researchers of the Project ‘Beta maṣāḥǝft: manuscripts of Ethiopia and Eritrea’, worked in the Egyptian monastery of Dayr al-Suryān in the period 26 February–3 March making a preliminary evaluation of its Ethiopic collection. See the mission report here.

New appearance: Epistemic Modality in Amharic

 

The monograph “Epistemic Modality in Amharic” by Magdalena Krzyżanowska has been published and will soon be available in bookshops. The book offers the first systematic exploration of approximately 70 Amharic modal epistemic expressions as well as their interaction with time and negation.
